Ian and Ross have a couple of German-style pilsners, one from a while back, and one new one. This gives us a chance to work on our silly accents and discuss the German language a little. The “Stilly Pils” from Stillwell Brewing Co and the “Soul Intent” from Tusket Falls Brewing Co.

Feb 20 – We really do like talking about German things
/RSS Feed -
Feb 13 – Sweet Porters for Valentine’s Day
/RSS FeedIan and Ross discuss the pronunciation and pluralization of “Valentine’s”, but also try some sweeter dark beers. Vanilla Porter from Nine Locks and the Exit 14 Porter from Truro Brewing Co.
-
Feb 6 – So many british things
/RSS FeedBritish hats, british accents, british persons, and british ales. In theory. Ian and Ross tried getting some ESBs, but these didn’t seem to be those. The Fenwick’s Ale from Annapolis Brewing Co, with union jacks all over the can, and the Best Bitter English Style Ale from Stillwell Brewing Co.
-
Jan 30 – Thick Fruit Salad
/RSS FeedRoss goes solo and has some fruity choices in store, including the new Squeezie II from 2 Crows, but compare that to a fruity lagered Tango Ale from Propeller.
-
Jan 23 – 3 Brown Ales are better than 2
/RSS FeedIan and Ross have been hoarding brown ales for far too long and try the Beerwick Brown Ale from Smokehouse Nano brewery, the Nut Brown Ale from Garrison, and the Chalo Chalo Brown Ale from North Brewing.
-
Jan 16 – Double down Double IPAs
/RSS FeedIan and Ross throw their dislike of IPAs aside and double down. Literally. Trying the Big Malt Energy from Horton Ridge Brewhouse and comparing it to the Big Boy Kickstarter DIPA from Smokehouse Nano Brewery.
-
Jan 9 – From Ol’ Biddy’s to Great Roads
/RSS FeedIan and Ross get to talk to Rob Turscott, the ‘Brew Guy’ of Great Roads Brewing in Lower Sackville, about a few changes to their brewery, including being able to finally use their space since the pandemic.
-
Jan 2 – Old Stouts and New
/RSS FeedRoss finds a dusty old Christmas beer from the closet, not realizing it’s actually part of this year’s fare from Roof Hound. The 8:05 Chocolate Mint Stout, then since Ian is away, decides to pair it against the small-batch Coffee Cacao stout from Keith’s brewery. Since they don’t count anyway.
-
Dec 19 – A Very Keir-y Christmas
/RSS FeedWith best intentions, we try to include our friend Keir in the drinking of festive beers this week, but it all goes horribly wrong, but Ross and Ian still end up trying Propeller’s Nanaimo imperial stout, Ol’ Biddy’s “Naughty or Nice” stout, and Garrison’s “All Lit Up”.
-
Dec 12 – Cream Ales of two flavour profiles
/RSS FeedIan and Ross try two Cream Ales, one from Stillwell Brewing, and one from Saltbox Brewing Co, and notice that they both seemed to have gone in two different directions. We also argue about the “United” Kingdom and british claims.
